The heartbeat of Master’s Commission is found in it’s mission statement: “To know God and make Him known.” The second part of this statement contains a thread that runs through the it’s very spirit- that is evangelism. The Evangelist for MCUSA, under the direction of Pastor Lloyd Zeigler, is Eli Amaya.
Eli Amaya graduated from his first year of Masters Commission in 1995 at the age of 19. In that same year he became a full-time youth pastor in Texas. During his four year tenure he became known for igniting the youth in the entire Gulf Latin America District in West Texas .
In 1999, Eli returned to MCUSA. He quickly became a multi-faceted member of Pastor Lloyd’s staff as a key ingredient in many different areas of ministry. Eli honed his gift to communicate with a wide variety of audiences during his directorship of MC ’s branch at the Los Angeles Dream Center, under Pastor Matthew Barnett. Later, he assisted Pastor Lloyd, as an associate campus for Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, while acting as the administrator for the entire department of travel for MC. Also he spoke to, and inspired thousands of students to believe in themselves and make positive choices for their future, while working with City Conquest. In addition, Eli has toured with Matt and Nina Poole, the presidents of 8 Side Records Company and heads of Frontline Worship, traveling on the Frontline tour, not only as a musician, but also as a key speaker.
It was in 2003, that Eli had the toughest year of his life. On June 23rd, he had a near-fatal accident, while on his motorcycle. After time spent in the hospital and months of rigorous rehab, he was released to return to work and to pick up the pieces of his life. It was during this trying time that Eli heard God’s calling on his life to be an evangelist.
Eli is confident in the call that God has placed on his life. His purpose is to bring a relevant message, both powerful and grounded in the Word of God to today’s generation. With an enthusiastic and willing attitude, he is an excellent choice for any congregation, event, or conference.
