City Conquest in Lake Havasu
Each year our team gets the opportunity to minister in Lake Havasu City, AZ and help with
'Teen Break.' A few years ago, MTV held their spring break event here causing several problems
among the junior high and high school students. College students invaded the small town with one
focus, to party. The results were devastating. Teen pregnancies, drugs, and alcohol abuse were at an all
time high. MTV had left it’s mark on the city.
To help get the students back on track, residents
of Lake Havasu City created 'Teen Break,' a spring break alternative. Staffed by Master's Commission
USA and other volunteers, this event is full of rides, competitions, games, and food. Together we form
lasting friendships and mentorships.
Another team that was on the road this month was City Conquest, our school assembly program. In Lake Havasu City they did 3 school assemblies in two days. Here in Phoenix, they continued to do 2-3 school assemblies each week in our local school district. Since they are not allowed to preach the name of Jesus in schools, please keep City Conquest in your prayers as they change the lives of this generation by the example of how they live.
In addition to that, one of our most notorious traveling groups, Frontline, is out on the again in the beginning stages of their tour. Already they have traveled to Citrus Heights and Manteca, California, as well as several in-state concerts. One of the highlights of their in-state concerts was a youth rally in Lake Havasu City the weekend before the Teen Break event. They’re looking forward to kicking off the next leg of their tour this summer as they continue to spread the heart of worship throughout the nation.
